Well, I sold my 75 today and now I can find my 2008 or newer but I cant decide on auto or manual. The paddle shift seems nice but sticks are fun. Any opionions to help me decide?

Search, more debates than you can count. But do you really need someone to tell you how to spend your money?

The auto's from 12 and 13 shift very good. But in the end is what you want. Many decide depending on their daily driving conditions basically meaning whether most of their driving is highway or city.

Manual is fun, engaging......auto is easy, generally faster in 1/4 mile racing.

It all comes down to what YOU like to do.

My 05 was an auto and my 2011 is a manual. I have to admit, I miss the convenience of the auto. If I had to do it over again, I would get another auto. JMO

My last one was auto and current is stick. The manual is so much more fun to drive.

I wouldn't consider anything but a manual in one of these cars unless I had a physical condition that prevented me from driving one. This is one of those questions, though, where our opinions shouldn't matter one iota - you should base your decision solely on which you prefer to drive. No one else can advise you on that. Your question is pretty much the same as asking, "Which one should I buy, the red one or the blue one?"

80% of my driving is in town so I went with an auto. I dont regret it, but the paddles are poor. IMO

Oh boy, the age old debate....
It's really driver preference and what / where the car will be driven.
If I had to sit in commuter traffic with it each day, I would get the auto. It it's a weekend car, I would get the manual. Just my opinion....whatever makes YOU happy.

IMO. Autos suck. Boring. Lame. Sports cars should have manuals.
If I commuted in the city daily, MAYBE I would consider an auto...MAYBE.

There are days I enjoy shifting and then I have days I miss the convenience of the automatic. I'm really split on the subject. In a perfect world, a guy would have one of each.

stick no question in my mind. I don't live in an urban city but I bought the car near Chicago and had a lot of "grid lock" bumper-to-bumper and it's not that heavy of a clutch. I found it a non-issue.

Stick all the way...I don't care if an auto can be quicker, I like the challenge and the fun of rowing the gears. 6-speed and I'll do it this way over and over again. I rented a Hertz Vette a few years back (auto paddles) and while fun it got boring quick.

Only you can decide which will work for your needs. Me, I'm a stick guy. All my vettes were & are now stick as well as convertibles, I'd never own a hardtop living in Florida. But that's another issue or debate. LOL. I say a Vette is a sports car and needs a stick tranny.

Living in Florida with the sun beating on my head I couldn't bare to use a convertible...now however, the few times I do want it, I'd just take my roof off. I couldn't bare to have a sports car as a convertible for the softer suspension and added weight.

Maybe if I had two I'd consider it but since I have just the one...no vert and M6.

Another auto vs manual thread....hmmm....let see....The auto is faster.....Your left leg gets to rest in heavy traffic...I can drink a coke and not have to use my hand to shift all the time...If sports car were "supposed" to only have manual...then I guess they would not offer auto If you like to run through the gears and shift by all means get a manual...If you want a faster transmission and ease of use....get an auto.

And yes, I have auto....
