The typical cause is excess wear of the plastic gears in the seat adjuster.

The fix is a new seat adjuster, about $400 IIRC, plus install.

OR DIY to rebuild the adjuster.

Thanks everyone

Try to stay with your car while they 'work on it' huge peace of mind consideration

I didn't realize C6's were subject to this issue. My C5 did it, as did most of them but I thought that issue would've been resolved on the C6 My '08 doesn't do it... hopefully it stays that way.

I bet it will! My 07 has it also, as did my 2000 C5. You would think it would be an easy fix during the 15 yr span.

my 13 427 has alittle movement in the seat. I believe it is inherant in that seat design. If you adjust the seat bottom down more than in a rear tilt it minimizes it. It has to be in the way the rails hinge that gives it movement

This is what I do although I have the seat a bit lower in front too. No rock and I like the seat lowered all the way down with just a touch of up so the cushion doesn't collapse. Improved visibility for me too.

My 08 starting rocking in the first year of ownership, under 5,000 miles yearly.

It was not important enough for me to have the dealership have my car since I figured it would fail agin just like the windshield cowl.....some things I can live with.

Is GM trying to say that old men need rocking seats? The Vette isn't a front porch!

Did not know this was a problem in the C6 - hope GM fixes it for the C7. If you are still under warranty, make the dealer fix the problem.

Better to let them do their thing than try and live with it. Once off the B2B you have to pay big bucks to repair it and if you don't fix it something like that will really detract from the car when you go to sell it. Put miles on the car and let GM solve any issues that come up.

I'm never selling the Vette. It will be one of my children's problems then. If it isn't moving how will it get any worse?

Agreed though if still under warranty let GM fix it and keep your fingers crossed....

There's a TSB for it, they had to replace both of my seat tracks braces as a warranty repair.

The beefier brackets solved my issue of the rocking chair.

My drivers seat started acting up. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the entire seat base under warranty. It works great again.
