The typical cause is excess wear of the plastic gears in the seat adjuster.
The fix is a new seat adjuster, about $400 IIRC, plus install.
OR DIY to rebuild the adjuster.

I didn't realize C6's were subject to this issue. My C5 did it, as did most of them but I thought that issue would've been resolved on the C6 My '08 doesn't do it... hopefully it stays that way.

my 13 427 has alittle movement in the seat. I believe it is inherant in that seat design. If you adjust the seat bottom down more than in a rear tilt it minimizes it. It has to be in the way the rails hinge that gives it movement

this also works for C6's, i had mine fixed at west coast corvette and they used this method.

My 08 starting rocking in the first year of ownership, under 5,000 miles yearly.
It was not important enough for me to have the dealership have my car since I figured it would fail agin just like the windshield cowl.....some things I can live with.

Is GM trying to say that old men need rocking seats? The Vette isn't a front porch!

Did not know this was a problem in the C6 - hope GM fixes it for the C7. If you are still under warranty, make the dealer fix the problem.

I'm never selling the Vette. It will be one of my children's problems then. If it isn't moving how will it get any worse?
Agreed though if still under warranty let GM fix it and keep your fingers crossed....

The beefier brackets solved my issue of the rocking chair.
