I'd love to be able to buy my dad a corvette. It's just one of those things I've thought about my entire life, but it's hard to image being able to do it. This is wonderful and very happy for him (you too)

Absolutely one of my favorite posts I've ever read here on the forum.....while I didn't buy my father a new vette, I did suspend all of my car related activities for 2 plus years to completely frame off restore his 57 bel air 2 door hard top. The car was done in a pro touring theme and when the engine compartment was done and he stopped by and saw it, he almost cried. He unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away about two months before completion and the car sits in my heated building. That was 11 years ago and I'm going to finish it for him later this year....finally. Thing is, I never considered myself a great son. My father was an extraordinary man. I'm certain this is the case for the OP. The time I spent building his car was nothing compared to the time he spent positively impacting me. It was him that got me started in this passion. I have a full stable of fun stuff now, including my CE GS Callaway vert. I commend the OP and the others who paid it forward by actually appreciating everything their parents did for them. I know I wouldn't be where I'm at today if it wasn't for them. So actually, a Corvette is a small price to pay. I am excited for the father......I'd bet it will one of the happiest days of his life and part of that won't have anything to do with the car.

No idea where you live but check out the regional forums. Maybe there is some sort of cruise or event you can do while you still have the car..

Well here we are almost 4 years later and....

you weren't wrong!!!

Just picked this bad boy up for me a few months back. Here it is along with a few pics by my dads!

It was a great deal on the car and I couldn't say no, it just happened to be the same color

It's a 2008 LT3 w/ 63k mileage.
It came with some really nice sounding exhaust & the LED taillights.

It's my daily driver and I absolutely love it!
