Given their asking price, will this add up to a better price than you can get it from Walmart? The last time I was at WM the 5-qt. jug of M1-EP 5w30 was $26 and change, $2-3 less for the non-EP. Anyone know?

nice catch, plas. as to oil, I wait for Costco's $10 off on the six qt. which brings it down to $27 usually. Altho Autoz. may also offer a filter w. that price; not sure about that tho.

As to EP, not offered at Costco, so it's not really apples to apples comparo. A few dollars off may be enuff to justify the difference and buy at Wal. Individual choice/preference tho.

At Advance this morning 5.1qt jug of M1 and the M1 filter were $32.99.
Coupon was $10.00 off $50.00 purchase or $5.00 off $25.00 purchase.

Grabbed a pass comp flter for the Vette and a fuel filter for my truck so I used the $10.00 off coupon.

Advance lets me bring the used oil there free.

I always factor in a hassle fee when dealing with places like Wal Mart.
So in my case due to the proximity of Advance vs. Wal Mart and the ease of entry/exit etc. I use Advance almost always

Lot's of good oil change specials right now, and as mentioned buy most of my stuff from Advance. They have some good specials too. One that seems to seems to take the cake right now is Pennzoil syn at Wallmart, with mail in rebate. Can't take credit for posting this first, but heck of a deal. I usually get Pennzoil instead of M1, as same specs.

Does anyone know if the Pennzoil still leaves big chunks of carbon in the oil pan? I would think not, but back in the 70's and 80's it did. Ran it in my 69 and found big hunks of carbon in the pan. Quit using Pennzoil after that, and my dad was a district Geologist for them. btw he would not use it either.

Never had carbon chunks in my oil pans, and been using Pennzoil syn in all my cars for years. Somehow don't see how it's the oils fault though, as no carbon chunks in the oil bottle.

No they don't. If they did, the marketing dept would advertise during halftime: "Now with more carbon chunks!"
