ZR1 spoiler...which one?
Hi guys and gals, I am ready to purchase the spoiler and drill the holes. Now its time to decide who to buy it from. I want to do this just once. Can I get some advice here? Are the aftermarket spoilers as good as the factory ones. If possible, I`d like to support one of the forum advertisers. Help please.

RPI designs is who I would turn to. I have the GM oem spoiler from them and it is great. Their paint work is very nice and matches my JSB tintcoat paint perfectly. I would also trust their repro spoiler as well, I've heard great things.
Btw you do not have to drill the holes. I didn't, and used 3M trim tape for the spots where bolts would have went; and so far so good. It looks flush and everything.

I tried the lower priced one first and was not happy. Had to send it back and lost a few bucks. Second go round I went with RPI and worked out great with great factory matched color in supersonic blue and quality paint job. Josh at RPI is perfect to work with and you will want to deal with them again.

I too went with RPI and was happy with the results. Drilling the holes is no big deal.. Just take your time and do the job the RIGHT way.Measure twice drill once. Anyone can do it. Nice tutorial on You Tube under Z1 nSpoiler. Check it out. The Z1 Spoiler makes all the difference!!

me, i would drill the holes for better piece of mind. you don't want that thing come flying off on the highway a few years down the road.

First, get the oem and not a repo. Then look for the best deal on parts and painting. I got mine from my local GM parts dept. (friend of mine is the parts manager). Had their body shop paint and install. I was not aware that GM made 3 variations of CRM. They painted all three on a sample piece of fiberglass and matched it perfectly to my color.
To be honest, all three variations were very close and probably would not be able to tell the difference unless you looked real close in the proper light.

i agree due to the fact the warrenty will go with whatever warrenty is left on the vehicle. unless your warrenty is no longer. look, i just bought the transparent top for my 013 from the dealer last week. i was informed that the warrenty on the top iis covered with the rest of the car. thats what, three five years. plus i took out the extended warrenty. to me that is a win win situation.

I bought mine from SLP GM OEM $200 and took it to the local Chevy Dealer and paid the another $225 to paint it. I have a lifetime Warranty on the paint job. I believe i did the right thing. I used the OEM bolts to attach the spoiler, GM uses bolts, enough said.

Just so you know, the RPI spoiler is bolted down in 10 places, 4 on the 3rd brake light, and 3 on both sides of that

I like mine. And I have to go with the folks who say "just drill the holes." #M tape is fantastic stuff. But it is still just tape. a few years from now it will be dry and who knows what would cause your $400. spoiler to dislodge. And if it hits the car behind you Heaven only knows what the lawsuit is going to cost you.

RPI and tell Josh you want the original GM spoiler. The paint work is great with as close to perfect a match as I have seen. I chose to mount my spoiler via drilling and bolting it down. I just did not feel comfortable with the ends being held on with tape...as I sometimes have been known to make the speedometer exceed the posted speed limits.....ah hem... a note, if you bolt it on..DO not over tighten ...good luck.
