What is your opinion of the C7 with 455-460 HP compared to our C6 LS3 430-436 HP?
Today GM released that the C7 LT1 engine will have 455 HP and 460 HP with NPP option compared to our C6 LS3 engine with 430HP and 436 HP withh NPP option. What is your opinion of the increase and how will this change your opinion about trading in your C6 for a C7? Also note that is a 55-60HP increase over the LS2'S 400HP output so LS2 guys might feel more thirsty for the XTRA 55-60HP power. What do you current C6 owners think ? Thread should state that the C7'S horsepower output is 455HP and 460HP with NPP option.

It won't change my opinion. Once I saw the C7 in person is when I decided to trade my 08 for a 427.

No opinion since I'll never own a C7, C8, or C whatever. But if my 2012 GS centennial is any indication, with the ton of nagging issues, both mechanical and cosmetic after EIGHT years of production is any indication, I can't imagine what it'll be like with the C7. GM has the worst tolerances of any auto manufacturer (at least the ones building cars for the US market). I tried THREE times, and that was it. The LS1 and LS2 had severe piston slap and valvetrain noise. That was finally resolved with my LS3. But instead, a plethora of other mechanical and quality issues, so I've had it. Wish GM luck, but they better SIGNIFICANTLY up the ante with the C7 is they want to succeed beyond the die-hard old Vette lovers. My immediate concern with the C7 is if some of us are having issues with this relatively simple car after 8 years, imagine with all the added complexity of the new one? Plus not being any lighter (reportedly a bit heavier than even the GS) than the C6 was a major disappointment for many of the prospective buyers. I'll watch its success (or lack of) with interest, but that's it. And no, I never liked it since I first laid eyes on it, especially the rear, and the Pontiac-inspired black vents. And finally, with electronic differential, electric steering, etc., it might not even drive any better. We'll see when it's tested. Again, as a current Corvette owner, wish GM well.

We've had five C6's. no issues. 06,07,08,10,13. Coupes, GS's, Z06's

I am VERY happy with my 2010 coupe. I have made improvements to make it my own and it already has more horsepower than I will ever use since I don't track it. Enough to get me into trouble if I'm not careful.
Also, I personally like the smoother lines of my C6 more than the angles, vents, and rear of the C7.

I think that is enough horsepower, but remember, that is only the peak. There is the whole torque curve to consider, and the new engine will have variable valve timing.
Besides, there is a lot of other great new technology in the car. I really want to see how well the cylinder deactivation works.

I'm not rushing out to buy one. My 2 mo old 2012 C6 will most likely last me for many years. At 68, long enough for me to reach the point where a two seat coupe is not what I wish to drive. The new ATS V sedan will most likely be my next purchase.

They should have reworked the heads and then put the LS7 into the C7.......... And come up with a turbo LT4 to be their HP model...... And exclude the ZO6 moniker and have base C7 and C7 ZR1...... Chevy does not need all those variations , they are not porsche , nor will they ever be or vice versa
To be frank, as a corvette owner for more than a decade (c5 vert, c5z and current c6z), I will not buy another corvette, the aura and mystic of owning a corvette had left my system.....

GM first-run engines are.. sketchy.
The '14 Stingray has the interior of a Pontiac Solstice GXP with an iPhone for a tach, and the exterior of a Saturn Sky Redline.
I just sold my Redline last month to get my '12 GS Cent. I didn't want to go back to the same style design.
Still, for those that missed out on the Stage 2 Sky RL they can still have it with an additional 100 Hp, which is nice.

opinion? i have none. with enough money you can have all the hp you want from the ls3. i don't track my car, so really, how much hp do i really need. people want to blow by me on the highway, thats fine. i'll just wave to them as i go by when the trooper pulls them over.
