Default Claybar + Wax + BLACK = WHOA!!! (56K RUN)

I finally got a chance to make black look like it's supposed to. It was my first time using clay bar. I had a friend help me and the whole job took about 4 hours. The paint is like a mirror right now and it's as smooth as ice.

1.) Wash
2.) Clay Bar
3.) Wax
4.) Clean Interior / Wheels
5.) Clean Engine Bay
6.) Take Photos
7.) Upload and enjoy

Supplies I used was nothing fancy. Just your regular stuff you find over-the-counter at a local auto store.

The final result, it looks stunning. My camera (point & shoot Canon) isn't the greatest in the dark and doesn't do it justice. I'm hoping to get better photos tomorrow during the day (weather permitting). Anyways, enjoy the look.

Looks like you missed a spot just above the passenger side fog light.

Great thread!

I noticed today that my local Target and Walmart now carry clay bar kits, and a great selection of waxes. Turtle wax has a new "black wax" and was curious if anyone has tried any of the "over the counter" stuff -vs- Zaino and Rejex.

I love Zaino but curious what the other stuff is like.

You should never write in the dirt on your car. I have seen many instances of the writing scratching into the paint and a faint outline staying permanently.

Car cleaned up really nicely

There's nothing like a clean, shiny Corvette. In any color. But black sure looks good when it is clean.

My last Vette was black, so I can appreciate what you did. BUT here's some advice. Order a bottle of Adam's Brilliant Glaze and put on over the wax. Your car will look like it's a deep wet pool of water. Amazing stuff. Not just for black (but black shows it best). I use it on all my cars and have for years. One of my favorite products from them.

Looking good. Hope the pollen isn't too bad in your area. It is all over our cars here.
