Default detailing question: those rubber and plastic seals around windows, side/front/back

I'm referring to the rubber and plastic stuff on the outside of the car that lines all glass, windshield, side, and back.

what do you use to keep them new-looking and - for the rubber seals - moist and dark? They get dry and light colored over time if you don't do something.

Last year at the Bash I attended a car care seminar put on by a plant quality control engineer. He said to use Dielectric Grease on the rubber seal parts.

Technician Grade Di-Electric Grease Compound, not the spray. Works great.

Mother's Back to Black is usually found locally. You let is soak in, then wipe off the access so you dont get smearing onto painted surfaces, your body, clothes, and whatever else passes over the seals. I think I read it here (a couple years ago) of a side by side comparison of different brands, and Mother's was recommended.

GM recommends dialectic grease.

Edit: Here is the write up on trim care: http://www.bugmanweb.com/c6/trim.html
