Sunday afternoon, my vette was idling out in the driveway while I was waiting on my wife to go for a drive. I have the dual mode exhaust, and it was open. When she got in the car, she said it sounded like one of those boats up at Leach Lake (MN). I knew what she was talking about - one of those old wooden Chris Craft inboards idling at the dock.

I thought the old Chris Craft were mean as hell

silence for a second, then wow!

Here on Barnegat Bay we get the go fast boats taking tourists to the lighthouse and back with the twin 427s roaring away with their straight out the transom exhaust and 50 foot rooster tails. At idle they are unbelievable with their racing cams... sounds like a B-29 on a taxiway.

I used to come up the way a lot, until I moved to IL and sold my boat. That is one thing in life that I really miss.
