Corvettes in Champaign, IL
I was in Champaign, IL this morning, and when leaving, I drove along the south side of Assembly Hall. There were a bunch of tents set up in the parking lot, and I noticed that there were probably 12-15 corvettes all lined up under one of the canopys, and then I noticed a few corvettes east bound on I-72 on my way west. Is there a rally or something going on this weekend?

It use to be out by me in St. Charles, this year it's out by you. It's a huge corvette show with vendors and swap meets. It's not a bad thing to check out

Its only the largest all Corvette show and Auction in the midwest 
It originally started as an annual Corvette swap meet in Bloomington Illinois and grew into a huge mecca of Corvette judging and fandom. The show has moved around to different Illinois locations due to its growing size. It started in Bloomington then moved to Springfield where the road tour broke a world record for the number of one make of car in a continuous line it took almost 4 hours to get all the cars out of the fair grounds and into the tour even the rain didn't slow it down. Then it moved back to Bloomington for a few years and in 2001 it was sold and moved to St Charles IL an affluent west suburb of Chicago. There it sat until the show was sold once again in 2011. This year will be the first year in Champaign.

Not only is it one of the premier Corvette events in the country, there are typically 3000-5000 Vettes in attendance, including the Mecum auction, all Corvettes! Hundreds of vendors, swap meet, car coral, and don't forget the Saturday night ROAD TOUR! 70 miles and 2000 Corvettes all rollin' at the same time! Sweet..... Hope to see ya there!

One of, if not the biggest annual Corvette enthusiast gatherings in the country. New venue this year. If you're close and are a Vette guy, you need to check it out.
