I bet he will say the Corvette, but the Ferrari I bet is a lot more fun to drive, simply because it is a Ferrari. I think that year and model was a 0-60 in about six and a half seconds and just under the 15 second mark in the 1/4 mile. We know the C6 turns better times then that. But then again we are talking almost a 20 year difference in technology.

It's all about the mystique when you drive an older Ferrari....no matter how much faster a newer car may be...you still have a prancing horse on your car, and that means a lot!

Corvette is faster, better gas mileage, more room, but I had forgotten how routine - easy - driving the Corvette is..... Ferrari goes around curves with no body lean as if it were on rails..... total confidence. And the mechanical and exhaust sounds coming out of that little V8 is amazing.... who needs (wants) stereo.

For those who have requested photos email me at jjacobs@koyote.com

And I will email you higher-definition exterior and interior shots of the Ferrari.

Always loved the 328GTB. Use to have a 91 Testarossa and a 93 348 Serie Speciale. Both were great cars and got lots of attention, only issue with any Ferraris is maintenance/service

Yep, they are pretty sweet rides both of them. When I was shopping for a 'vette, Ferrari of Denver had a '06 Monterey Red coupe with 10K on it. So the eye candy was all around you! Salesman gave me a little tour and looked at a 2010 Scaglietti. It was mid-engine and he said to tune it up you have to pull the motor which overall tuneup was around $25K. That's expensive maintenance, but the car was around $285,000 so I guess it's all relative. Also if you get on it, conversation is over due to the noise of the engine.

I am always fascinated about the amount of misinformation that lurks about upon the web:

The 612 Scaglietti is a front engine V-12 that seats four (4) adults. It was produced from 2004 - 2011 and does not require an engine out service.

Maintenance costs, unless one needs tires or something major that can go wrong with any car, generally run a quite reasonable $1,000 - $1,500 a year.

My F-car (328 series car), while a mid-engine car, does not require an engine out service for a 30K major either.

While I have budgeted $5K for service annually - my car is 25-years-old - dependable records show that the annual maintenance on my car will likely be less than $2,000 - unless something drastic goes wrong and then it could get VERY pricey as parts can be difficult to come by.

New Ferraris for the past few years come with a 7-year maintenance program.

Congratulations on your new addition. It's always good to go to Walmart with a lesser car than the vette.
