Default Unusually quick front tire wear on c6 GS?

Hi all, replacing my 2011 Grand Sport original tires, the car has 11300 miles and front tires are spent, rear tires have good tread left but are 10 years old, my question, is it normal for the fronts to have worn so quickly, I know the car has never been tracked or abused, I would have thought rears would have worn quicker as they are the drive tires, any thoughts?

Alignment and tire pressure are the biggest factors on tire life. I suspect you have some toe in (or toe out) that is increasing tire wear on the fronts.

Probably time for an alignment when you get your new tires, front and back. 10 year old tires have long lost any of their performance traits, rubber has become hard, and can be downright dangerous if you get caught in rain.

Yeah, planning on an alignment, just wondering if that was normal wear for a GS with low miles, Thanks

GSs come from the factory with an aggressive alignment that will wear the inner edges of the tires. You want a Pfadt Pure Street alignment that will give good tire life while only giving up a tiny amount of track type handling. It is what I have had on my Centennial since I put new tires on it 4 years ago and I have even tire wear.

Dang, that's good info, Pfadt street adjustment vs a more aggressive track adjustment Will extend front tire wear, that's why I post on these forums, thanks

I bought my 13 GS new and the tires were pretty bald at 9k miles. I printed out the pfadt street alignment specs and gave it to my mechanic after I bought new tires and dumped the garbage Goodyear run craps.

the car comes from the factory with a racing camber in front causing the tires to wear on the insides. Replace the tires and realign . My oems lasted 14,000 miles. I think they put a 0 camber on the front replaced with michelines and no more problem

I have ordered the michelin A/S3+ZP, I expect they will be back ordered but I'm in no hurry as car is tucked in for the winter. I will have the alignment changed when new tires are installed, thanks for the great advise.
