Unfortunately, this is a common problem on the first few years of C6. Our 2006 had THREE transparent tops that cracked exactly as OP described. All replaced under 3/36 warranty, but too late for that on OP's car. GMPP does not cover it ("Glass" or "Body Panel", take your pick).
Our 2009 transparent top had other defects right off the showroom floor and was replaced under warranty, the replacement has been perfect for the last 4 yrs/55k miles.
Use caution in buying a used top, especially an older one, as they may develop the same problem.
Sorry for your pain.

Thanks for the replies. We looked at a lot of c6's before we settled on this one, being very fussy about the paint and such. We knew about the delamination issue, and that had been taking care of by previous owner. Got both roofs with car. This is disappointing. At least I know im not alone.

It's expensive, but replacement is fairly easy.
Shipping is a problem. Between the crack issue and shipping problems, I plan to find a local dealer that will supply and install the new top at a good (it's all relative ) price, if I ever need one.
I think some of the tops are sold without weatherstrip and hardware, that's cheaper but more of a PITA.

I replaced mine on a previous car because I dropped it and damaged it. The new top never fit as perfectly as the original did. Just had to live with the bad fitment.

I had 5 crack on my 1994 coupe and one replaced with peeling, they were refusing to replace them. They thought I was selling them. The first dealer refused after 3 to replace anymore. The second dealer said the same thing after 3 replacements. It is body flexing I'm sure. Stay with painted tops.
