Default Targa top on or off ?

When you park your Vette do you leave the targa on or off ? Not in the garage, but out in the real world. If it not is going to be too long I normally leave mine off with the windows up, rather than go back and fourth.

Usually it's easier to roll up the windows and leave it off.

I've got a C5 coupe and I leave the top on probably 98% of the time. My wife does not like all the wind when she is in the car so the top stays on and in the garage the top is on to keep the interior cleaner.

Probably not an issue in some places. Just don't leave anything of value in plain sight, if possible put anything of value in the console and lock it.

I only leave the top off when I can see my car. I have an expensive stereo and live in NY so.......95% of the time I leave the top on but we do enjoy taking rides with the top off. I was pleasantly surprised on how little wind and noise there is.

Me too. I usually run with the polycarbonate top, which takes less that 30 seconds to swap and is easily done even by an old fart like me.

We usually have the transparent top on, but when we take it off and want to leave the car in a normally safe area for a few minutes, we put this in place:

http://www.corvettemods.com/C6-C5-C4...on_p_5710.html

In place, it does look something like a poorly fitted toupee, but you remove it for driving.
Probably no quicker than installing the "real" top, but more convenient.
We don't use it very often, kind of a 50-50 on whether I would buy it again.

I never have and never will leave my car unattended with the windows down or the top off. There's just no point in making it easy for some random idiot to do something stupid.

And my targa top stays on about 99.9% of the time.

My TT has never been off the car. In Western MA anyway, spring and fall are too wet and cool and summers are hot and muggy.

Depends where I am. At work or a car show or somewhere I'm within an eye shot of the car I'll stash the 9500x and leave the top off. I'll also leave it off if I'm only going to be away from the car for a minute or two. Otherwise, it's on. I don't keep valuables in sight so I'm not too worried either way I just use some common sense. If someone wants in, or wants the car, bad enough they'll get it regardless. I used to drive one of several Miatas and wouldn't usually lock the doors because I'd rather anyone wanting to steal something open the door instead of cutting the ragtop
