The pulley bearings go and start to squeak...

If you are there, you might as well replace them if you plan on keeping the car.

It is just insurance for future reliability.
I only plan on keeping my car for another year and a half, but I will replace anything that is or could fail while I have the car apart.

Example:
Last week I lost the left axle shaft.
While I have the hub off, I might as well replace the wheel bearing...

Three months ago my right wheel bearing left... Two weeks later I had to replace the right axle shaft.

Why is the never enough time to do it right the first time, but always enough time to do it over?

Yes it does. You move it out of position, even if you don't remove the tie rod end links, you need an alignment.

An alignment is 60.00 dollars...
One Michelin is 300.00.

I'll pay for the alignment.

After my HB was done, first drive and the steering wheel was off quite a bit. Had it aligned and good as new.. likely needed one anyway..
