So Sick Of Winter
So I decided to back my Vette out of the garage to, as the British might say, 'keep the works going around.' Welp, I backed out of the garage and I thought I'd shoveled enough. The car stopped moving. I started getting a sinking feeling. I put the gear lever in 1rst and the only things that moved were the tach and speedo. Oooooohhhhhh $h#t! I'm stuck! As a dude, I've always wanted to be maybe 6'1 or 6'2. But, that afternoon, I was soooooo glad I'm only 5'10. Otherwise, I would've been trapped in the car, as there was a wall of snow next to the driver side door. I had no choice but to get out the passenger side. I had to do this several times to put down grit and shovel enough in front of the rear right wheel to let the posi grab some traction. I actually got pretty fast getting in and out after 2x. But, man, I had to really contort myself to keep from putting my full weight on the console and scuffing the dash with my shoes. I finally was able to rock it back into the garage. I had to use 2nd gear and turn off the TC to keep from bogging and loosing momentum.
I though I'd never get it back in!! That it was going to have to sit half way out of the garage until spring!!
So, lesson learned. The Vette's gonna stay put until probably April. Sigh...Spring can't come soon enough. I'm going through serious withdrawals!

Wish I could say I feel your pain but in South central Florida have no idea our current cold snap is mid 40 lows and highs around 70. Our new minister just moved down from your area and said he can't believe it even feels cool to him, but it was in the low 80's.

I feel bad for you real northern guys.
I'm in NJ and while the temps are like alaska, we didn't get that much snow the past 2-3 weeks. There are some snow piles on the street but nothing compared to what you guys got, and especially boston lol. You'll still be seeing that snow until may lol.

I've got probably 3' on the ground here in western NY. They're forecasting a high of 0 for Sunday. So far we've got more snow than last year but the cold isn't as bad as last winter.
It went up to about 30 today, it felt very warm, lol, but will start to plunge tomorrow afternoon.
LOL @ the south. Any limp-wristed Mama's boy can live down there.

I'm the one who hates summer and the cold is actually not that bad, it's the snow/ice that's annoying. I can't take my car out, can't take my motorcycle out and that's what sucks.
I do wanna move south lol. Even though i hate hot weather, it sure beats seeing snow 3-4 months out of the year.

I don't know how you folks put up with that weather, but then when its 115' here you might not like that either

Got up to 38 today and was the best day in the last two weeks to bring my car back from stereo shop, felt good but even the Michelin's struggled with just a little of the gas pedal, felt good but back on the tender for a couple weeks, highs of 12 this weekend. Wish I was rich like some of the guys I know, put their vettes on a train and going to Florida for a week to get re energized

Mostly cloudy, mid-50's, and dry today. Had the Vette all detailed so I took it out for a couple of short errands then headed down to the waterfront for a while.
I lived in Ohio for 4 years, so I know what you are talking about. And yeah, I remember how it sucks. Sure glad I live here now. We are experiencing a warmer and drier winter than normal so far this year so Red Racer is getting more exercise than last year.
Good times...

My little girl keeps asking me to pick her from dance lessons in the Vette. Nope - too much brine / salt on the road, and the tires are no good below 40 - she's figured out S. Claus and T. Fairy are a crock so she is calling BS on my irrational fear of a plastic skinned 2 year old car. I'm screwed....
BTW, our AZ Winter sucks too. We can't race in the heat in Summer and now the Winter has been in the 80's for the last 7 days. I'd be happy to trade 30 degrees with someone for a month or two.

I'm in the same boat. My Vette's benn sitting in the garage since December. It's on a tender and I check every day or so, but, it's depressing me to see it there, motionless. I can't wait for this weather to be over. I mean, I like the cold and some snow, but, enough is enough!

Here's some Florida sunshine for you guys stuck up north.
My wife and I took a little cruise yesterday afternoon along the Intra-Coastal, and River waterways in Ft. Lauderdale, where I snapped this photo.
Temp was 73*
Some of the houses are amazing.
Many corporate C.E.O.s, famous athletes, recording artists, movie people, etc. have homes in this area.

Brrrrr, I know the feeling well. It was often -18 to -20 where I lived for many years.
You're right Florida from December through April is like living in paradise.
Of course during the summer months you need to stay indoors, or you can't breathe.
Maybe a few more snaps will warm you up.
