Vette ramps
I`ve decided to change my own oil because I don`t trust anyone else. Can anyone suggest a set of ramps that will work well with my GS? Thanks

I've got a set of 67" 2 piece Race Ramps that I purchased last fall on sale that I use for my vehicle. I added the X-tenders as insurance as the front spoiler just scrapped the ramp.
Many folks here have made ramps with 2x12's that seem to work great, a search should find them. I just made a 35" wide ramp from 2x12's and plywood to move my new gun safe inside the house and when we're done with that project then they'll become a set of ramps for my son-in-law by cutting it in half.

I have the race ramps too, best investment I made, already paid for themselves over with what I saved doing things myself.
I have the 2 piece 67" with extenders.
You can make wood ones, but the race ramps are light weight, and I just hang them on the garage wall, big clunky wooden ones, you need the space to store.

Even those cheap plastic ramps you buy at AutoZone will work [if] you get a couple of 4 feet long 2" x 6" and use them to 'extend' the ramps.
Set the end of the wood about half-way up each ramp, and it will give you a nice long approach ... you won't scrape the front splitter on the car that way.

As Aggie already mentioned, just make your own ramps for almost no expense. I had some 2x8" boards lying around and I just did some rudimentary cutting and nailing for a good result. I then put a stopper at the rear with a short piece of 2x4" and I was done. Here's someone else's photo that I used as a model to make my set. For the front, put it behind the wheel and back into it. The rear can go either way.

I have the 87" variable incline Race Ramps and while they were not cheap, I look at them as a good investment since I plan on keeping the car for a long time.
They are very light weight (but wide and strong) and my car with a ZR1 spoiler can go up them with no scraping.

I recently purchased a pair of the 87" ramps from ReverseLogic (see above), and I couldn't be happier. Sure, they're pricey, but they weigh next to nothing and are easy to store and move around, and if you ever want to sell them you could probably recoup most of your investment.

One thing you may want to think about is the space available under your car using Race Ramps - the car still isn't very high off the ground. I'm a big guy and it was pretty tight to work. Oil changes - no problem but if you were planning to do much other work I'd think about the cheaper, higher ramps with the 2"x8" assist.
