"It's the same car, without all that fancy stuff." ...he said. All those options would have cost about $600.00 but that was a lot of money for my dad in those days.
Same story, my only my dad bought a'59 Nomad wagon. It wasn't until '64 that the wagon and it's "Blue Flame Six" gave up and we got a '64 Impala. I tried to talk him in to the Super Sport but he didn't want the bucket seats, and it cost too much. At least by the time I was driving I had a somewhat decent car to borrow. It wasn't long after that I was working and had a '36 Plymouth and then a '54 MG which were much cooler to me.

Default Very good point

I agree with you. In So Ca the Vette has a bit of a old fart image. The only thing that changes that is a bad *** look. Chrome wheels instantly label any car as "old fart". How do I know? Because of the many car events that I go to. You mention "young professionals". Many of them have very little idea of what makes a car great from a engineering standpoint. They buy into the whole BMW and Range Rover image. That is until they take a close look at a Z06 and realize just how fast and brutal one is. They are surprised when they hear me pull up with the NPP open. They come over and start asking about the car and the discussion takes on a whole different tone from the gold chain, chrome wheel deal. Sorry if that offends, and I do not have an issue with chrome wheels, but that is the truth in So Ca.

So..I'm confused. Are you old with black wheels or young with black wheels and don't like chrome or old people? If you're old I'll leave you alone. If you're young I'll say this...some day some old person may hand your azz to you!

I do not think the C4 or C5 are timeless, especially the C4.
The reason is that the C6 and C3 have some sexy lines to them while the C4 is pretty standard 80s techno-car and the C5 strikes the middle ground between classic and technical. The C6 almost looks a little retro to me, especially when considering the creases in the hood.
The wide body C6's and C3 have very similar lines. Probably the C6 is the last of the retro Vettes have just passed.

Though they don't look all that much alike, I would argue the classic smoothe
flowing lines of the C2 & C6 are still similar.

And I believe smooth lines are more timeless than sharp angles & wedge shapes.

And like in women, the narrow body style looks best to me.
