Not sure it's been awhile but Hawk "may" of been the brand, like mention by 2vettes. If I was buying today and o'reilly has them at a lower price I would most likely try them unless I knew they were made in China!

hi grand sport man, question, is it all grand sports with this problem, or just the one's with manual tranny? i'm about to trade in my base 2lt 013 for the 4lt grand sport, so i was just wondering. thanks.

I think the rust might come from the rotors rusting up during washing and dropping on the wet barrels when you start to drive.
That rusty looking water that gets everywhere (to include your garage floor) after washing your car is NOT rust.

It's that filthy reddish-brown color dust from your brake pads that is mixed with water.

You can flush your calipers and wheels all you want after washing, but a certain amount will still come out of the calipers (and everywhere else) and cause a reddish-brown stain after this filthy water dries.

You just have to live with it ... if you in fact drive your car.

I have aftermarket ceramic brake pads on my GS, and I still have this problem.

Default WOW! I am glad I did this a long time ago!!

Here is something you may want to try that may also improve your cars appearance. I painted my wheel barrels semi-gloss black a long time ago; it hides stains & brake dust for the most part.

The 2010 GS has been kept in the driveway since new and I have used "Mothers" paste cleaner wax from the get-go.

Pic taken yesterday!

I found that my armor all wheel treatment worked well on my stock OEM chromies but since I put the black chrome spyders and larger tires on I can't keep them from dusting up immediately...oh well the black chrome sort of masks it and I can't see them when I am behind the wheel....steering wheel that is!

I love making my car perform so I really don't want to change to pad that may not perform as good. I may be wrong but it seems that OP report brake loss happens when you go to the ceramics and other pads that create less dust...

I ran out of it a month ago and my wheels still look like new. Great stuff.

I have given that stuff a try. I would even take the wheels off and after cleaning the barrels with Comet I would spray them with the Armor All too. Two coats.

My results: Yes the wheels stayed cleaner longer and that depends on how much you drive the car and how hard as far as what "longer" means to different drivers. Bottom line for me is it got old doing it all the time and buying the stuff.

YES. Mine has the A6.

PS: The faster you drive these cars on dry road the more you realize these are truly "SUPERCARS" with brakes to match!

You said it Dan, us garage queens have to stick together.
