Default Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP vrs A/S 3

Has anyone here switched from Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP tires to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires on their C6?. I'm interested in road noise and ride comfort differences between the two from someone who has personal knowledge based on experience. Thanks, CC

I have A/S Plus ZP on my C6.. Love these as street tires. They have over 15000 miles and look and drive like new. Quiet, pretty damn sticky for Runflats.. I have better traction than some of my buddies with very popular (begins with an "N") non run flats on the twisties around here.. Never had my rear end break loose...

There's a little bit of tire skipping at slow speeds when cold, but ALL tires will do this. let's put it this way... I drive hard, I track my car (on Toyo R888s) and when I need new Street Tires, I'll be getting PS A/S Plus ZP tires again... worth the $$$ IMO..

Initially, I was told the A/S 3 Michelins were not available as runflats. Has that changed?

I have 19/20 that came on my car. Same size as ZR1 tires. The Michelins are a great tire.

The A/S Plus tire lasts so long that I wouldn't expect to see many people on here who have replaced them yet. I love mine...they have about 15,000 miles and look like new.

I don't see any ZP sizes of this tire on Michelins site.

I just put a set of A/S 3's on my S550. Had Generals (not a fan) and I can say what a nice quiet tire that handles great and is also good in the rain. Excellent upgrade!!

Default Update

So I have approximately 400 miles on my Pilot A/S+ ZP tires. The motivation for getting these tires was that I like to drive my Corvette until the snow starts falling in NH and early in the spring.

By way of reference, last year, my 05 Vert had the stock Goodyear tires. Absolute crap below 50 degrees as they are a summer tire - enough said.

My 2013 Grand Sport Vert came with Goodyear and they were a fantastic, fast wearing summer tire.

Overall the Pilot A/S provides a very stable, smooth ride. They are perhaps a tad more noisy that the Goodyear summer tires but not by much. You do give up a slight level of handling (during aggressive cornering) with these tires as compared to the summer tires but that is to be expected.

The big advantage to these tires is that I can get at least another 2 to 3 months of driving my car each year without the fear of running four "hockey pucks" when it gets cold up here!

Overall rating I would give these tires - 9.5
