Several cars will be going from Lone Star Corvette Club out of Dallas. They are staying at the Hampton Inn in Bastrop, TX. Got a break on the room price of $125, but now they are $189.

We will be there all three days, I have plans to take the new toll road from Seguin TX to the track, 85 MPH posted speed limit, 10 MPH over = 95 MPH, who needs a track.

The experience within the COTA facility for F-1 last November was so fan unfriendly, and overall miserable, that I am not going to give them any more money until I get some great reports from other events. I do not refer to the shuttles and the traffic, which were all actually pretty good. But once you got there, what a disappointment.
The track itself, and the pits and garages, were clearly well done. Apparently the landing pads for the elite fans arriving by helicopter were all fine, as well.
The slow ticket sales for this year's F-1, compared to the landslide last year, is evidence that many who went last year were not very pleased.
I will follow this thread, and really hope you folks have a great time, and report back that the place is a great venue for fans.

I'm going this weekend and I went to the F1 weekend back in Nov and the GT Rolex race in March. The GT Rolex weekend was WAY more enjoyable due to less crowds, on-site parking and wide open view of the track. The F1 cars are awesome, but I really enjoyed the sports car racing a lot more!

I must say the race track is first class and the corvette coral was huge and well represented ! The weather was amazing Saturday afternoon. Ron Fellows was in the corvette coral giving away a day at his driving school. Very sweet deal for one lucky guy. I will for sure go again next year and anybody that is on the fence about going should come out. Great day of racing ending with a corvette victory !
