Recomendations for dash camera for my GS
I would like to get opinions on cameras for cars like the GoPro Hero3.
I want to use it for a varity of things but the main purpose right now would be to mount in my GS for trips.
Anyone have something like this?

Check out this little camera for around $100. Look at YouTube videos.
Looks like an amazing little camera.

I have a GoPro Hero 2 and love it. I have mounted it inside the windshield, outside of the windshield, on the back glass, and on the rear quarter panel and have had no issues with it.

I have both a GoPro Hero2 and Hero3.
The Hero2 is great. It has slightly less intuitive menu/settings than the 3, but it works - every time.
The Hero3 is a piece of garbage. Great specs in the advertising sheets, but it rarely works consistently and if it does the battery life is terribly short (about 50 minutes without wifi, 20 minutes with wifi). The Hero3 is a classic example of a company pushing out a product before it is ready. Hardware seems ok, but the software is junk. They have put out 4 updates since I bought mine, and it still doesn't work properly.
The GoPro Hero2 is good, durable, and has tons of mounting options, but there are a lot of these type cameras out there now. Go to a big box store like Frye's or BestBuy and look around. One thing I found to keep in mind when you are choosing a camera is the software you will need to review and edit the movie. Some use proprietary editing software and may be more cumbersome than those that use the more popular recording formats.

I found a GoPro user forum and was reading up on the new hero3 black version. Sounds like way to many bugs for that kind of money.
Locks up all the time due to the SD card. Users recomend buying a better card than the standard.
Also recomend buying an external card reader to get it moved to your PC without problems.
Also recomend buying a battery backpac to increase battery life.
Also need to buy mounting hardware.
Sounds like you need to add a couple hundred bucks onto the $329.00
just to get it to be usable.
I'll look around for other options or wait until GoPro comes out with the hero3 black plus/hero4

I use the BlackVUE DR400G-HD II, I love this CAM, I mount mine using a suction cup mount so I can remove it. Below is a link to a video using it, make sure to select the full 1080 HD version when viewing it.
