I like the sound of the stock exhaust when I'm driving above 60 MPH. I agree it sounds like *** at idle and to 60 MPG...

Are they loud??? I live in Pittsburgh PA. and there are some Mustangs that sound awesome. They always get pissed at me when I blow them away so I never get close enough to them to see what they are running for exhaust..

Your car is never going to sound like a Mustang. You can be louder or sound better (according to the owners ear) but not the same sound.

stock cat back with headers and a blower will sound insanely loud! My ZR1 scream in open mod with headers its insane and do love the deep sound of them! there is no gains with cat back regarding power. just make louder and most of the time less exotic imo.

Actually, I noticed an improved throttle response with the akrapovics , I also saved about 25lbs of weight to the rear and the SOTP is noticeable IMHO

actually is probably because of the x-pipe more than cat back itself. But the ZR1 come stock with X-pipe that might do a difference between the Z06 systems though. I know 2011 and plus Z06 have same cat back as ZR1 but not sure about the X-pipe though

I've had Borla S type 1 and they were too loud... Interior noise was just overwhelming and drone was ridiculous. I've also had Corsa sports and thought they were too quiet....Akras are the best of both worlds...quiet when you need it to be, loud and exotic when you want it.

I installed B&B Fusions on my 427 Convertible this past summer.....Louder than the OEM Dual Mode/NPP in both modes, and the 4" tips look better, in my opinion, than the OEM 3" tips.

I installed the borla"s type 2 sports on my Ls3, had no drone problems at any rpm. Added pfadt headers few weeks ago with tune. The exhaust did get a little louder, but sounds great. Highway speeds are still quiet. Have a freind who had the type 1 s borla"s and also had to take them off.

It seems that the type IIs really addressed the drone and cabin noise. I loved the sound of them at idle and WOT and IMO, no other exhaust has a better combination of a nice-loud sound, but I could not handle the interior noise when in first and second gear... It was rattling my interior panels.

Interesting point. Didn't know they didn't make a Z06 version, then again, I've never shopped for Z06 parts. I don't have one.

The Callaway exhaust sounds great - deep tone, louder than stock with no drone.

It's not the loudest set-up out there tho, so if you wanting something really loud it's not them.

Agreed, my Pfadt headers with type 2's sound amazing without any crazy freeway noise
