Got another something for the car, Borla exhaust.
I just unpacked the Borla S-Type II exhaust I got a few days ago.
I didn't find too much in the way of comparison of the OEM (NPP) dual mode exhaust to this Borla exhaust, so I plan on doing so, and posting photos and videos for anyone that might be interested in this in the future.
I am very curious as too if there will be a noticeable difference, in tone or sound or loudness.
I hope to get these installed Thursday evening.

I have them they sound great. When installing make sure you don't have the rear hanger rod all the way to the stop collar. Set it back about 1/4 inch you could get a rattle when they get hot if it's set all the way to the stop collar. These have to be installed perfectly or you will get a vibration or a rattle because they really expand once they get hot.

Is it the pictures or are the two inner tips a tad longer than the outer ones? I never noticed that when looking at them in person.
Cant wait for your install......

I questioned that to a friend that is familiar with various brands of exhausts. He says that is normal.
I think it is to match the curvature of the diffuser and back of the car.
That is why you have never noticed it.

My ATAKs actually seem a bit mild to me at times...maybe because they are only axle back, but they come to life in a great way when you push the pedal...97% no drone on highway.

They drone less than the NPPs when they are open. They sound about the same as the NPPs with the valves open, with a slightly deeper sound. They are pretty quiet when cruising, they only really resonate under load in a high gear (like if you accelerate in 5th or 6th) I am still on the fence between the two myself. I swapped mine for the NPP system because I am awaiting header delivery and didn't want it to be too loud, but I may end up going back to the S-Type IIs after they get put on.

I was on the fence about whether to do the swap or not, because I am not sure if the change will be worth it or not. But the only way to find it out for myself, is to do it, and see how I like it.
I figure I can always sell the Borlas if I wanted to change back to the NPP (OEM dual mode) exhaust.
If I do like the Borla better then maybe I can sell the NPP exhaust(cheap) to someone that has a 'base' exhaust.

I wish the NPP tips looked at nice as the Borla ones do for sure. I figured there'd be some value in the option to open and close them when I felt like it, but other than that it surprised me how similar they are. You can easily sell the NPPs for $700 or so, and the Borla for $800ish no matter what you choose to keep. My borla is sitting in my garage until I figure that out as well.

Here's are some videos comparing the NPP with the Borla S-Type II.
In my opinion the Borla exhaust is similar to the NPP in the wild mode, but it has a little different tone.
Also, there is no drone with the Borla exhaust at any speed in my opinion. The NPP did have an annoying drone/resonance at highway speeds when it was in the 'Wild' mode.
With the Borla exhaust, you get a nice throaty rumble whenever you step on the gas but it quiets down when you back off, and is not loud at all at highway cruising speeds. You always know your driving a sports car.
