I have an 05 Vette base model with a manual transmission. It has 96,000 miles on it. The reverse lockout solenoid stopped functioning. It won't go into the reverse gate unless you force it. I found that the retention tab on the solenoid's pigtail was broken off. Probably by the mechanic who replaced the clutch at 50,000 miles. I replaced the pigtail first which did not solve the problem. I measured the voltage at the pigtail using its ground wire and it was 11.58 volts. The voltage at the battery is 11.65 volts. The car has been sitting for a week or so. I replaced the solenoid only to find that it still didn't work. I used jumper wires to hook the solenoid directly to the battery and it worked. I then hooked the old solenoid directly to the battery and it worked as well. Apparently my old solenoid was not the problem but I just don't understand why it won't work if I have voltage at the pigtail.

Do you have any Ideas?
