Well, I've decided I'm keeping the vette in service for the cold weather season. And I need new rear tires anyways, fronts only have 5k miles on em... but they are the OEM's which pretty much suck in the cold.... so I'm trying to figure out what are the best/most reasonably priced tires for all seasons.

I've seen people say Michelin pilot a/s zp are good, I was looking on tire rack and found a few to choose from

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP - $1250 + shipping
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT - $1250 + shipping
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 - $1080 + shipping
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season $912 + shipping

first 2 are run flats, which is probably the way to go, but if anyone has experiences with these tires or have recommendations on something else, I'm open to ideas

It is hard to say for sure. Sometimes all season tires really aren't all that much better than the stock tires. One of the big advantages of winter tires is being narrower with a long narrow foot print Vs a short wide footprint. That is hard to achieve if your all season tire is the same size as the summer tire. For instance the summer tire for my Tahoe is 265/70/16 but the winter tire is 245/75/16. Tires are basically the same diameter so speedo, odometer and all wheel speed driven systems still work but the 245 cuts through the sloppy stuff better. You may find you can't find the appropriate size tire for a Vette.

I just put the Michelin A/S 3's on a z51 couple of weeks ago and absolutely love them! I live in GA so it doesn't every really get that cold, but the reviews for the A/S 3 were so favorable, even for an all season tire.

For me, run-flats aren't worth it. If you buy Michelin's they have a 3-year flat tire change assistance where they will tow your car for free (up to 150 miles).

2006 Z51 in Chicagoland winter - driven in snow up to 5 inches deep, after that the Vette is a cool snow plow. I use Pirelli winter tires.

interesting, I was leaning towards the run-flats, but I been looking over the A/S 3 reviews and they are all extremely favorable...

And I think I worded it wrong when I asked for "winter tires", I probably meant to say all season tires since I'm not going to change back in summer, I gotta decide soon so I can order them from tire-rack, got an appointment to get them mounted next monday while she's getting her oil changed

Winter in Chicago is much different from winter in Tallahassee.

We used the Michelin A/S+ runflats with good results around Chicago, but there were a few days when I just stayed home. Not many.

Since there is a lack of dedicated Winter Tires on the Corvette I'd recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. The ZP ones if you need to have Run Flat (I have those currently), they work good in the cold, never used them in the snow but I had the same Pilot A/S's on another car and I enjoyed the snow traction. It's not the same as a dedicated Winter, but it's a quality tire.

when you are retired everyday is a Saturday! Now what is this winter you speak of?? Only issue we have here in S Tx is the few days it gets below freezing.

well i just order the a/s 3, and 1131 after shipping, they should be here tomorrow or the next day, and they will be on the car monday, I cant wait
