winter garage storage...floor question
My car is going in the garage for the winter. I thought I read something about the concrete floor not being good, that some type of covering is recommended. Is that true, or is the concrete fine? Thanks.

Well, your car sits on concrete all summer long, right? The idea that concrete floors is bad for tires goes WAY BACK to the bias-ply tire era. Sitting for extended periods of time would cause flat-spotting, but it wasn't because of the concrete…would have happened on asphalt, plywood, or anything else hard. Modern radials aren't subject to flat-spotting if a car sits for several months.
I suppose if the concrete was still pretty 'green' (freshly poured) there could still be some water and lime coming from the surface, but if the floor is at least 30 days old, I wouldn't worry about it. If it makes you happy, put some nice cushy rubber mats under the tires--your car will thank you in the spring.

My car like most sits on concrete year round. The only diff for winter is I run a small blower under the car to induce air flow eliminating any moisture buildup. Probably wouldn't be necessary on bare concrete but my floor is epoxy coated.

I used to lay plastic over the concrete then covered with heavy cardboard and park on that.
Then I found these 3/4" solid rubber "horse stall" mats at Tractor Supply they are 4x6' I anchored 4 of them together. This is where I park and store the car....
