Vinyl letters? I don't think vinyl would survive long on a hot caliper.

My experience is limited to the Z51 brakes, but there the lettering is raised on the casting. Paint is either sanded or cut away after painting / powder coating or perhaps painted with high-temp paint.

I don't have any experience with what you're asking about but I wouldn't put any kind of cover or apply vinyl lettering to brake calipers. At the track I've had hard rubber 'marbles' get lodged in the calipers and literally catch on fire. IMHO go with a heat resistant paint....not vinyl. Why not ask whoever is powder-coating the calipers?

I also think that the vinyl would not survive the heat generated by the brakes.

Powder coated calipers are a very popular mod and part of the 'finishing' process is to remove the coating on the raised letters, retaining the OEM appearance.

There have been many posts displaying the work of Mike the Powdercoater, all have been very impressive. Give him a call.
