brake clip cleaning
Anyone know what brake clips are made of?
I have new after market pads to go on painted calipers. Wondering best method to clean them up?

If you are talking about the clips that attach to the ends of the pads and rest in the caliper, they are made of steel and can be cleaned with any solvent. I used a wire brush on mine recently

Aftermarket pads may not come with the clips. That is usually a large portion of the cost difference between OEM and aftermarket pads. GM packages the brake HW with the pads while the aftermarket guys charge extra for them.
