Default Cost of oil pan gasket

For those that have had oil pan gaskets replaced, approximately how much is the cost? Does the engine have to be pulled or raised to access the pan?

I had mine done but it was under warranty. This is a common problem with all the Corvettes. The gasket that replaced it is suppose to be of better quality. Some of the suspension pieces have to be removed in order to peform this common repair.

Some of the front suspension???? ALL of the front suspension has to be removed. Mine was done under warranty and I'm glad it was, the dealer had my car for a week! Not something to do yourself.

I had an alignment done afterwards.

Hopefully your car is under warranty. A lot of labor involved with that job.

I had mine fixed under warranty. I asked the service manager, and he said about $950 plus the alignment. Yes, the engine has to be suspended when they drop the crossmember and motor mounts.

Yes that's what I was told by forum dealership on here.
The gasket doesn't cost but it all of that labor that does.

I had mine replaced under GMPP. I had no idea it was so expensive.

How much is it leaking?

Stained pan near filter?

Dripping on floor?

actually, very, very little. There is no sign of leaks around or near the oil filter. It seems to be leaking near the front of the pan, and the oil blows back over the bottom of the pan. Occassionally I will see a light film on the bottom of the pan. Once while under the car, (as much under the car as I could get-it was not on a lift or hoist) I tightened up as many pan bolts as I could get a wrench on, and it seemed to help. It may not be enough that is worth doing anything about, its just that I don't like knowing that its happening.

I replaced mine myself. Removal of the front cradle while supporting the motor is how I did it. Took about 5hrs one day and 5-6 the next. Them a alignment. The cost was 114 for the gasket and 69 for the alignment. And of course my labor (if that is worth anything).

PN 12612350 gasket had a dealer list price in 2010 of $38.94 before my discount. All the rest is labor.

I changed mine along with the pickup tube, windage tray, and oil pan in about 30 minutes, since the engine was already out.

You guys are lucky that you have the tools and knowledge to do these costly labor time consuming jobs which cost more than the part as usual.
