I'm in the process of replacing my clear bra and thought the easiest part would be taking off the old one. What a mess. I spent over an hour using the last of my WD40 to remove about one square foot of adhesive. After reading on the forum that some people did use WD40 and other use goo goof or 3M adhesive remover I went to Walmart to look for something. This Turtle Wax adhesive remover works great. Much better coverage and it only took about 20 minutes to remove the entire rest of the adhesive.

Every household should have a can of 3M adhesive remover. Odorless paint thinner sometimes called mineral spirits, is also great for removing tar, oil spots in carpet and some glues. It will not hurt automotive paint. In fact once I clay my cars I then go back over it with mineral sprits to remove any residue before waxing. Wiping on, wiping off, mineral sprits will leave an absolute clean surface ready for sealer or wax.
