Grand Sport GY Gen 2 Question ?
What determined which cars came with the GY Gen 2 Supercar runflats ? Was it a later date of manufacture, or a specific set of options ? I can't find the answer anywhere.
According to the published production statistics, in 2013, only 396 cars came with those tires. Yet there are 4908 Grand Sport Coupes produced and 1515 have the manual transmission and dry sump. Also, there are 1402 coupes with magnetic ride (auto and manual).
I have a '13 GS Coupe with manual transmission ( dry sump ) and the magnetic ride control, made in Jan 2013, one and a half months before C6 production ended. Did I get the Gen 2's because of my late build date or my combined installed options ?
Any info is really appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure if they're Gen 2 or not, but my 2009 Coupe has Supercar runflats. I bought the car used a year ago, but one of the tires is original because the manufacture date was in '09. The other one had been replaced.
Not sure when GY started making the Supercar tires.

To get GEN2's on the Grand Sport, it started in 2011. You had to have a manual shift and magnetic ride control as options. I ordered mine with that setup.

Cool . . . and since they only made 272 (6%) Blade silver coupes out of 4908 in 2013, and 6% of 396 magnetic ride 6 speeds is about 21 cars, I will pretend my car is one of about twenty blade silver 6 speed, magnetic ride coupes with GY Gen2 tires .
