Default Chrome or polished aluminum

How can I tell if a 2005 Corvette has chrome or polished aluminum wheels?

They sure look like chrome to me but 'some guy' says they are polished aluminum.

Polished will show some fine lines and have a more satiny finish.

I'm selling the c6 since I bought a C7. The buyers want to know if my wheels are polished or chrome. I'm still not sure even after seeing those great pics.....and the buyers don't seem to know and they are looking at my pics.....I'll post them shortly

If it's original, look at the RPO equipment sticker in the glove box, left side of the lid.

As I recall, chrome wheels were not originally offered on the '05's, at least not until the end of the model year.

Chrome wheels have RPO code QX3;
Polished wheels have RPO code QG7;
Painted wheels have RPO code QG6.

I didn't even realize there was a difference. Were all the wheels available as polished or chrome? Now I don't know if my Gumbys are chrome or polished.

Take a small mirror out to the car. Make sure the wheel is clean. Look at yourself in the mirror. Now look at youself on one of the spokes of the wheel. If you look the same in both they are chrome. If you look hazy or blurry in the wheel spoke they are polished.

My manual talks all about aluminum and nothing about chrome
It's an early 05

When I ordered my '05' I don't think chrome was available but a lot of owners quickly went aftermarket chromes.

Look for the code that begins with a "Q" inside the glovebox door. Report back.

I don't think so. Here is a comparison.
Car came with polished wheels.

I swapped for the chrome ones.

The chrome center caps are around $100 each...far more than all the others. Take them off before parking in a bad area...LOL
