I have an '05 C6 that has some paint damage that I believe can be cleared up with a colorsand/buff. Wondering how thick the clearcoat is on a 'Vette?

I've dealt with cars in the past that had plenty of clear, but I've also seen some with incredibly thin clearcoats...

Any one have any experience/info to share?

It is very hard, but thin. Here's a little info from a few years ago:

I had an issue on a machine silver C6 hood.
A chip in the front of the hood.
At the end of the process, I had to get the hood repainted.

Although I've done the wet sand/ buff thing myself before, I think I'll check with a pro for the vette...
