trouble adding profile photos with photobucket
Keeps saying invalid file when I try to upload from profile menu to add photos to my profile. Looks like im able to add to a post though.

Did you size the picture to the required size on no larger then 250 by 250 pixels? I had no problem. Once you have the size, you can loaded directly from your PC. You do mean Profile and not Avatar correct?

Profile pictures are size-limited... you may need to resize your picture (pending on paid subscription limits).
Under the profile you will see this disclaimer;
The maximum size of your custom image is 400 by 400 pixels or 390.6 KB (whichever is smaller).
