Default New Seat Covers on a Budget...

My car has 105k miles and obviously the driver side bolster is worn. Wore a whole through bolster foam and " leather" cover. Decided to get some new covers, and foam. I went through ExotikLeather on EBay. They have a synthetic leather, any color combo and stitch you want. They will even embroider the Corvette flags on the head rests. All for $250-$275 dollars, shipped.

I was able to recover my passenger seat the other night. Still waiting on new driver side foam. I am extremely happy with the product and results. I went black w/gun metal inserts and black stitch. I was able to have them do the flag logo in black and gun metal to match instead of the red and white in the logo. The material feels and looks 100% better than the stock material and they use a thicker foam backing which allows for no wrinkles and a more comfy seat.

I am thrilled with my purchase and recommend them to anyone. The gun metal insert is darker in person than in the pic. I think the flash brightened it up.

Looks good! What did you do to help stop the wear on the new covers?

Nothing on the passenger side because it sees way less abuse. Still undecided on how to go about it on the driver bolster. Nothing much I can do about the wear to the material that makes contact with your body as you get in and out of the car but maybe some extra layers of thin foam to the underside of the bolster foam to keep the fiberglass seat back from cutting into the new foam bolster. Ultimately cutting through the seat cover material.

NICE! Thanks for the post and vendor pointer. You did a great job installing - how hard was it, and how long did it take you? Absolutely necessary to take the seats out to install?

I have the normal seats, meaning it's only a 2 cover per seat set up. The seat back and seat bottom. That being said install was easy. I know the 6 piece set up (3 cover pieces per seat) is a bit more involved. The passenger seat prob took an hour+ but I think the driver seat will take less time as I know what I'm doing now. It is necessary to pull the seats out of the car. It's 4 bolts and depending on you seats, a few harnesses to unplug.

Good job on the install.
Only way I've found to keep the seat wear down is to make an effort to enter and exit a little better.

I thought about trying a set of these as a winter project. I had contacted the seller last year, and he seemed very willing to offer any answers etc.
The options for color combos were endless, and for a very good price, which made it appealing to try them out.
Most comments on the quality were positive.
I'm wondering if he is finished with the business, or infringed on a dot com address, as the reason he is now missing in action.
I was hoping to find the message I sent him, but to no avail. I deleted it, so I'm not positive on his username.

The company is Interior Innovations located in Saginaw, Michigan. I'm going to contact them this week and order a two tone seat cover set. I'm undecided between the Leather and Synthetic seats...

Same situation. Purchased a used/better set of oem covers off a forum member to replace my worn out seat covers. Was watching a few synthetic and leather sets on ebay but was undecided like you.

Anyone having the synthetic covers installed and could provide some input on durability/fitment would be appreciated.

Have the oem used leather set sitting in closet until I decide what to do. I do like the embroidered c5 logo on headrest and can honestly admit the cover looks great. Just don't know about leather or synthetic. Cost is about 1/2 if going synthetic.

I think I might be stealing your color scheme. This looks great!

Any opinions on getting it with red stitching on a VR coupe?

One of the guys on there purchased the synthetic seats and it sounds like they're better quality than the OEM seat covers. That's the route I'm going but I'm not sure about the perforation for $100 more.
