Default Wide Body Project Begins

Hello to all
Recent new CF member here and as mentioned in my intro post I have started on my wide body project. After seeing and reading much (A lot) on wide body's and that great aggressive wide body stance I decided to go for it. I went all GM on parts except for the fenders which I got from ACI Vette. Bret was really friendly and was very helpful with the whole purchase. My friend Christian (owner) and Ivan shop Manager at the shop located in Costa Mesa, C.A are doing the work as they have many years of experience. This undertaking I thought would be very complicated and expensive which it can be however with some patience and deal bargaining I was able to make it happen. For those that might have a question on the quality of the fenders I can tell you that the shop was very surprised at the quality and fitment of these fenders. They really do bolt on like OEM Fenders..Big kudos to ACI Vette ....My Vette is an 06 Vert Z51 3LT. Enough rambling here are some pictures to show the progress. I kindly appreciate your positive feed back Thank you

Good luck with the project. You've got more guts than I have. I was going to do this with my '07 vert but finally just decided to buy a GS instead. You will love it when it's done.....the wide body is sweet.

We wanted to make sure the fender would fit just right and not risk scratching a newly painted fender or quarter panel as well.

Looks good. The car looks just so right with the wide body. Are you going to keep those wheels or get something different?

Any quality body shop will fit the fenders first and make any modifications if needed then paint.

Good luck on the remodel, I did it several years ago now and love it and get a lot of comments on mine.

Im sure you did, but want to make sure. Did you also have to buy the liner/installation kit?

Nice I want to do the wide rear end first, are you adding spacers to the rear wheels?

With all the wheels available for a wide body from concave look to deep dish and I like them all. I decided along the process to go with GM speed line Z06 wheels. I have always love the look and the stance of the wide body with those wheels especially when you lower the car just a bit.

Yes when doing this conversion you have to replace all the inner liners to fit the wider qtr's and fenders. I didn't replace the main from wheel liner as my shop will be adding some material to fill in the small gap.

Because I want to use up the Nitto NT555 I currently have on I will be temporally using wheel adapters. I probably will be switching wheel looks between the one's in the picture and the Z06 wheels I picked up.

Looking good so far! May I ask why you chose not to utilize GM parts? Are you saving that much money? Just wondering.....

Hi not a problem willing to answer just about anything. For clarification all the parts used for this conversion are all brand new GM from a GM Dealer. The only item I decided not to purchase GM where the GM Carbon Fiber Fenders instead I went with ACI VETTE Fiberglass Fenders. The cost difference between each fender is about $1,100 depending where you buy them. I personally didn't want to go with used fenders and the quality of the ACI Vette fenders are really great.
