I went with the K&N. No complaints here. Not sure about colder air helping performance, but I have always wanted my vehicles to breath better. Sounds slightly better than OEM.

With all the hype, claims, and high dollar options...
Bought an OEM Z06 air snorkel/filter off a forum member for $75 shipped. Done.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
If you're after maximum power/performance go with Vararam.
If you want maximum filtration, stick with the OEM unit and Donaldson filter.

I surprised that a K&N A/C or any other would require a new fuel/air ratio. Was that your only MOD to the engine or did you also add exhaust? I am also thinking of changing my A/C but don't want to mess with a new tune.

First off it is not drawing in the air from outside the engine compartment it is not a true cold air induction system. Next the only way to know the true HP gains is to do a dyno run prior to the install then again after it is done. If all you want is for looks at shows and cruise in there are plenty of after market air filter systems out there. So look around.
If you are looking for a performance gain go with the Vararam, but if that is all you are doing, I don't think you will notice much.

I had the Vararam for a while and experienced surging, although very slight it was still became too annoying after awhile.
Humm take the $$ and get a good tune, it will be worth more power and easily felt. Preferable from a LS tuning expert on a dyno, I am not sure of the mail order tunes.
You will loose your powertrain warranty, which for your 09 is close anyway if not already expired.

I have a 2008 LS3 and what I did was swap my Airbox to a Z06 and then purchase the ZR1 Donaldson filter which is suppose to flow better than the LS3/Z06 donaldson filter.
