What does the GM Extended Warranty cover after the first extended is done?
Hi All,
Going to buy a C7 in MY 2017, so I want to extend my warranty another 3 years on my 2008 Coupe. Talked to Dennis at Fitchner. Said if I am under 36000 miles it is $1,500, if over $2,000.
Does anyone know what they cover or not cover? So far car is perfect.
Thanks,
Steve

formula 52, it is the same Majorguard plan you must have on the car now because if you don't have an existing plan you could not buy one on a 2008. You will extend the existing GMPP Majorguard plan with another GMPP Majorguard plan.

.
Your car looks as awesome as ever.
I appreciate you asking this question.
I see my 2008 c6 z51 which has been trouble free for over 70k miles and I've had the peace of mind of the extended Gmpp warranty for an ownership experience that is now approaching 7 years....
I have to decide if I want to extend the Gmpp warranty one more time.
Just so I understand your looking at 500 a year if your presently under 36 k miles and 650 a year if your car is presently over 36k miles or are you talking about future expected mileage? (Give or take a few bucks)
Either way it seems relatively inexpensive way to avoid unexpected repair bills....
The Gmpp warranty would make it easier to sell in a year or two as long as there is time and mileage left on it or you could get a prorated refund as long as you didn't use it...I don't think buyers will pay more for a car with Gmpp but I believe it would be easier to sell privately. If your trading in the dealer won't care.
Not sure what I'll do but I do appreciate the thread..I'll probably roll the dice.
Btw
Ferrari in spring valley on route 59 is hosting a breakfast this Saturday morning at 11 am.
There's an early drive up route 17 ...and .the bear mountain drive afterwards was cancelled due to potholes...lol
Sunday has a cars and coffee in ridgewood this weekend as well.
Just a heads up...

Suggest you read the latest "Consumer Reports" article on extended warranties. In general they are not cost effective.

The GMPP I bought on my '06 is the only extended warranty I ever bought that paid for itself.
Off the top of my head:
Compass repaired.
Radio replaced.
Harmonic balancer replaced and front wheels aligned.
Oil pan gasket replaced.
Door touch pad replaced.
