Default Bilstein Shocks Swaybars Review!

One "forum icon smiley" I think sums it up....

This is EXACTLY how the car should have came from the factory. I'm sure the suspension is just settling in but the handling went from crud to freaking awesome. I just put 100 miles on the new setup.

Body roll? Gone!

Can take an S-curve with confidence (and tons of fun)? Yup!

Better traction off the line because the car's stock soft suspension doesn't rebound lift in the rear? Yup!

Overall a blast. I read that the base car should do the HD (heavy duty) and the Z51/GS cars should do sport but I put the sport on the base suspension today. It's a blast. You feel a little bit more in the road but nothing crazy at all. You only notice it if you're looking for it. The steering wheel has better input and you can feel where the tires are going much more accurately.

Best money I spent. Originally bought the JOC PFADT package but they dropped the ball with endless delays. Overall, I'm a happy camper with this package it's a fine setup!

This is what it looks like...

Here's the stock rear sway bar next to the new rear sway it's down right laughable

HD shocks go with the Z06 bars and Z06 stiffer leaf springs,

The sport shocks go with the Z51 sway bars and standard base leaf springs will get you by (Z51 used FE3 springs, not the FE1's springs on the base model).

Hence match sets to mimic the factory sets up of the two (factory Z06/Z51 set ups).

Eliza, start with a set of DRM (Doug Rippie Motorsports) custom valved Bilstiens for @ $425-450 w your CF discount..you very likely won't want or need sways after you install these..they're that good & still compliant enough for everyday driving.

I don't recall Bilstein making sway bars.

Yes, apparently somebody forgot to check the forum rulebook that states once a member reviews a Corvette part, nobody else is allowed to do so ever again.

Thank you for posting this. I have already upgraded my sway bars. (I used the Eibach ones which look to be about the same diameter). Shocks are going to be next. Glad to hear you have experienced positive results with the Bilsteins. That is what I was considering too.

Enjoy.

My point is.. the OP thinks he bought Bilstein sway bars.

I bought used Z06 sways for less than the new z51's...and quite happy with them and the DRM Bilsteins.

I understand. And I am trying to point out that the guy was merely using the forum to express his excitement over a new mod.

A very popular usage, so I hear, and one I hope will be allowed to continue.
