Default Advice on C6 purchase

I am looking to purchase a LS powered vet. Are there any years I should stay away from? Due to mechanical issues or headaches not the opinions on the diff body style or rim changes etc...

Thank You

Might do better in the C6 section?

2005 had some issues with standard transmission equipped cars. After 05 was decent. Should be a fair number here who traded C6's.

Buy the cleanest, newest one you can find. Always good advice

You did not mention your budget, which makes a difference, but as already stated, buy the best equipped lowest mileage that fits your budget.

The LS2 is rated at 400hp and 400 ft lbs were as the LS 3 is rated at 430 or 436 if NPP equipped. The LS3 was the standard engine in 2008 through the C6 run. If you are looking for a daily driver and not a track car either engine is fine. To the average driver you will not really notice the difference between the two.

When I made the move from my C5 to a C6 I thought I was set on a 2008 or newer for the LS3, but I ended up with a 2007. The selling point was I got a 2007, with a wide body kit, ARH, CAI, black chrome wheels perfect condition and only 11,000 miles. Plus the price was better then any 2008 I looked at with all the addon's.

I have an 05 which did have some issues, but nothing that should scare anyone from buying one. DBS, service active handling, flying roof, etc. Most of those issues should be fixed by the previous owners by now, or will be covered by GM.

2008 and up are your best bang for the buck and no issues to deal with.
