NPP Exhaust?
Well, I think I just sold my MINT 2005 with Borla S-Type II exhaust and I am dealing on a 2013 GS with 1,369 miles, 3LT that has the dual mode exhaust? Help me understand how this works? I love the Borla, very crisp at low RPM's and NO drone at all! When you get on the gas it is incredible! I do not want an exhaust that is stock until you crank it up, can you bypass the control and have it on full time?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Just bought my used 2012 on Friday with the NPP exhaust…..pulled the fuse before I even had it off the lot!!! I had an 05 and put a Corsa system on that one….. this NPP set up ( minus the fuse ) sounds every bit as good as the Corsa system did! I love it….

HOWEVER there are some who say that with the NPP wide open (with M2W) at highway speeds there is drone---somewhere in the 1500-1800 rpm range. If this is not true, I'm sure I'll be corrected. Sent you a PM.

Btw....it's true. The ones that claim no drone need to get their hearing checked. Can you drive around it/manage it? Yep. Is it not there? I call : having been in a multitude of cars...base, GS, and Z06 models...across multiple years.

You are correct! The drone is there ….but in my limited experience it is momentary and can be "driven around." Cruising at 70 on the interstate I have nothing more than I did on my 05 with the Corsa system. But then…. i did not buy my GS to be quiet anyway!

Love the NPP on my 2011GS. Pulled the fuse first, then bought the M2W switch. I love it. So does my girlfriend who is always asking me to turn the 'noise' down. Love it around down but glad to have the option to 'turn it down' on the highway.

As others said you can control the NPP with multiple types of modules or just pull fuse to leave open all the time.
Factory-wise if you leave it alone it will always stay closed unless you get the RPMs over 3500rpms. In competition mode that value drops to 3000rpms.
Here's my car with NPP Open via modification on stock exhaust at full throttle
Here's my car same NPP now headers/no cats (partial throttle 1st run and full 2nd run)

Sunset Creations have several different products to control the NPP. One of which is very nice in that you can set the rpm's at which the valves will open....
