Default Oil Pan gasket

Anyone know if the LS7 has a different oil pan gasket than the Ls1 or Ls2 or Ls3?

Well. Turns out the leak wasnt from the oil pan. It was from the brake line coming out of the ABS to the front caliper. It wasn't in the bracket on the frame rail and rubbed against the power steering pump pulley until it almost cut it in half. Try getting off the highway with no brakes. HOLY $hi*. I'm gonna start a new thread if anyone knows what size that line is. If the dealer doesn't have one in stock I'll just bend my own but I need to know what size line and fitting it uses. Also I'm betting there might be a special bleeding technique? The master cylinder didn't go dry but low enough it didn't work. Prob have to bleed all four brakes. I'll start a brakes thread if I can't find it here quickly.

if the dealer can't get you a new line quick, take one end off the line and go to the parts store. You will probably need to bleed all 4 calipers, but you could start with the front and see if the pedal comes up hard.

That's what I was thinkin. Shouldn't be too bad (famous last words). Be nice if the dealer has one to save an hour or so of bending and test fitting. I'll prob bleed them all with some fresh new DOT 4 fluid to make sure and flush the lines anyway. Any special procedure of air got into the master cylinder or ABS / AH box?

I had my whole system EMPTY this winter when i painted the calipers...it just totally dripped out....but it bled out pretty easily. just did one wheel at a time- clear plastic hose into a small bottle of brake fluid.

Thanks guys. Someone said these are dual flare tips? I pulled it last night but haven't looked yet. If so do they sell a dual flare tool at the auto store? I've always seen in or out - not both.

I'm sure it will be double flared. the flaring kits are similar- just takes a second step. I redid all the lines on my escalade last year. you will be an expert when your done!

Thanks. Just got the line and tools. Shouldn't be a big deal at all.
