Speaker problem
The driver side door speaker is not working but the tweeter in the door is. Does this mean that the problem is with the speaker or could it be at the radio head?

Although the fault could be anywhere from the head to the amp to the speaker, it makes sense to start with the easiest and most likely area. Because the door is opened and closed, this makes it the first place to check. Movement and shock have an effect on electrical connectors. The least likely and most difficult place is inside the head unit. Start at the door and then work backwards from there.

I was wondering if there was only one wire coming to the door and just split off between the speaker and the tweeter. If that was the case I would think it would be at the speaker/connection.

My understanding is that the amp for the woofer is in the door, which would mean that there is not one wire. There would be a speaker level wire to the tweeter and a line level wire to the woofer amp.

I finally got around to taking the door panel off and the Bose woofer was not connected. The wire was there but not connected to the speaker. I think it might have been that way from the factory because the connecter has a latch and it couldn't just back out. Any way I plugged it in and it works fine. Had trouble getting the door panel back on though. Took a while and I'm not sure the top of the panel is attached correctly.

Glad it was a simple fix...I think they don't push the connectors on all the way so that the locking tab never gets engaged...then the vibration gradually works it loose. The top of the door panel is a known difficult thing to get right. Search on here as some people have come up with creative ways of getting the top edge back on the clips...I remember one guy who used small wires attached to each clip. Post a new thread and people will chime in and help.
