Ya see, the problem with you guys is the fact that you just don't understand basic automotive design dynamics.
Black wheels are used on cars that promote speed, provide a serious look, excite even while parked, sometimes even intimidate.

In short, cars with black wheels are manly cars.
Of course there is nothing wrong with chrome wheels. They are used to promote bling, sparkle, a Las Vegas look. You've heard the expression, "If it don't go, chrome it". Of course you have.
In short, cars with chrome wheels have their place primarily as girly cars.
Hope this helps y'all to understand.

I have seen some "knock out" looking cars with black rims and have seen some "I have my snow tires and wheels on for winter" cars with black rims. Sometime it depends on the car color and sometime it depends on how it is accessorized. It would be nice to be able to experiment infinitely.

It would be nice to switch off once in a while for a different look.
Unfortunately, it's hard to rationalize $7,000 for 2 more sets of wheels.

I really think it's an old school new school thing. Graduated HS 1974. Black wheels meant you had a flat and had the spare tire on your car. American mags or even chrome wheels with baby moons (that's something you never see) were it. To each his own but my Z being black is enough black for me

Prior to my many mods and addition of carbon fiber spoiler, halo, headlights, skirts and splitter my car looked identical to yours. If I had not done those mods I would have kept my chrome wheels on! I like the black wheels when they go with something on the car.

Every car I've had I've put black rims on.. But I only buy silver and grey cars.. I just like the look.. It's def an age difference.. The murdered out modern clean blacked out look.. I ordered my gmc sierra with the all terrain package because I hated the Chrome bumpers.. I got my 05 vette last week with 30k miles and already have black rims on the way.. Blacking out the roof cross member, side markers, and tail lights.. When I blacked out the camaro my father thought I was crazy... He's 57,, but now he's excited to see the vette finished.. Offered him to drive it this past weekend and he refused saying he will wait until it's done

I know Im going to get torched for this but to me black wheels are the worst thing ever. You cant see the design very well unless your close, they do nothing to enhance the cars color and basically look like your driving on 4 spares. How can people like these wheels and pay for them? you couldn't give me a set. But what do I know? I'm the old "get off my lawn "guy. Ok let the destruction begin!

Some chrome wheels look good. Some black look good, it all depends on the car.
For some reason the stock silver starfish have grown on me. I plan to swap out for some "fancy" wheels (as my girl puts it) in the next year or so but really am having a hard time deciding.
Roll with the jokes my good man....roll with the jokes.
The answer to that one is easy. Some people still get it wrong.
