Very cool... I will probably scrap the PAL and get this. Would like to hear from someone with first hand experience with the installation and use of this. I bought and installed the old version of lockpick in my 2007 C6 (sold now) and it just plugged into the XM radio module. Simple installation that took about 5 minutes and worked great as advertised. I assume this is probably the same.
I know all about the testing and certification GM's engineers must comply with, but they should be embarrassed. Comparing the PAL to the lockpick is like comparing the first cell phone that weighed about 10lbs to a IPHONE. GM could/should have done better.

There is really no need to take your car to anyone to have the lockpick installed. The system simply plugs into your XM radio box and can be done in about 5 minutes. If you have a coupe the XM box is extremely easy to locate. I don't have a conv, but from what I have read the box is pretty easy to locate in those as well.

No, you have to have a nav and satellite radio. However, you don't have to subscribe to XM for the system to work.
I suspect that it probably would for your nav system and possibly the HUD if you ever had any problems with those components. However, even though I don't advocate cheating GM the device can be easily taken out by simply unplugging it and no one would ever know it was there.

Tuning in to this thread.
I like the PAL, but this looks like it's the next level...
The backup camera would be great. I currently have a scuff on my back bumper from a parking lot incident just the other day...

Looking at the PDF install....radio has to be removed and some cables replaced.
It is easy to find the XM box....I already added an aux cable to that box so I can play other devices. But really like the features of this new lockpick.
