honest opinion VIP plant-NCM tour
Hello my buddy and I are planning a long weekend cruise, no job worries, wife or kids, and I want to get some opinions from people who have ACTUALLY done the plant-NCM VIP tour that cost $200.00 for a small group.
Is it worth the $200.00?
I have taken the plant tour and the NCM regular tour back in 2003 for my only visit to the area, so I am trying to get some honest first experience on the basic tour versus the VIP tour?
Will be going in September sometime.
Thank you,
Is it worth the $200.00?

Did the VIP tour a couple of years ago.. Highly recommended. .
Also, did the NCM experience - also, recommend that as well.. Drove up from SoCal & was nothing short of an epic trip!
Enjoy

I have not done the "regular tour" but that one looks a bit "hurried and crowded"..... I did, however, take museum delivery of my 05 back in 05 and that included a "personal tour" which sounds very much like the VIP..... and, that tour was worth every penny! Very up close and personal with the people and process that make these great cars!! I would do it again in a minute!

Well worth the money! A buddy and I did the same thing a few years ago. Drove from Jersey, left the wives home, had a blast! It was a very in depth tour of the factory and museum with the two of us and our guide. Also, stopped at Makers Mark distillery on the way home which was pretty cool.

I did the VIP tour 2 years ago, me, my gf and the guide. Was it worth it?
Hmmmmm the jury is still out on that one. Although the guide did make some flagrant wrong observations ( I didn't say a word I just let it go ) it was nice to not be in a crowd and you were not rushed and the guide did introduce me to some people that worked there including Dave Tateman who was the plant manager then. You do feel a little special in as much as you have your own personal guide but I think it's one of those things you just have to experience for yourself and then you be the judge after it's over.

I took the VIP tour and it was worth the money. We had a great guide and was able to chat with some of the line workers. I even got to "drive" a car off the line. The museum tour was also great.

just sent you a PM, it is only the two of us, so no problem splitting the cost.

The wife and I did the VIP tour 2 years ago and it was well worth the money. Just a side light you can try. The tour cost $200 and is for 4 people or less. We happened to find another couple who were going to take the $15 tour and they decided to split the cost with us so it ended up costing us $100. Talk to some of the other people there and see if anyone is interested in the other 2 spots with you and splitting the cost. I also got to start and drive one off the line. If your guide doesn't volunteer that, ask if you can do it.

The regular tour now costs $15? I remember the early 90's being free. And I remember our guide was so hung over (still stoned?) that he could provide no useful info about the plant.

Some of our club members did the VIP tour at the beginning of May and thought it was a good experience. Two current additional perks of the tour are a tour of the new motor park being built across the interstate from the museum and an up close view of the famous sink hole.

It would be worth the cost of the tour just to be able to drive a new Corvette off the assembly line! Not many people can say they did that. Congrats to you for getting that opportunity.

Regular tour is good enough, I mean 200 bucks for the VIP tour, for what?

Be very, very careful of those tours.
Wife and I did one (our 4th) and before it was over, we ended up agreeing on a 2013 427-vert!
R8C delivery, of course.
