Default Help me choose a powder coat color to use with Monterey Red

I'm adding ZR1 calipers and want to have them powder coated. I need input on what color would look best with Monterey Red. I have thought about matching my body color but I am concerned that it will be to dark in the wheel well. Anyway, right now I am considering the following colors: ZR1 Blue, Z06 Red, Mirror Black, Crystal Red or Monterey Red.

Suggestions/opinions welcome.

I would recommend a contrasting color to make them stand out or as an alternative get the exact same color as your body color. That would be unique.

The ZR1 calipers are a work of art. Congrats on this beautiful upgrade.

I love my red calipers against black (Carbon Flash metalic) paint.

I had the calipers on my 06 Monty Red coupe powder-coated in the body color and they looked really good.

I have a magnetic red C6 and the calipers match. I get a lot of compliments on them because they are not the typical colors that everyone has. I'll post you some pics tonight.

Okay, that sounds pretty good. My concern was that they would come across as to dark and we both know how much Monterey Red turns into a dark purplish color in poor light. Mike the powder coater also recommended Monterey Red. I only recall one poster that put up a picture of Mont Red w/Mont Red calipers and it didn't come across very well.

I like both color match and contrast. As long as the theme is used throughout. I like the Monterey so would color match if it were mine.

Monterey Red. I have an '07 Monterey Red and the calipers are the same color. Not sure what contracting color would look good with this color.

I think that looks great color matched, otherwise the black or maybe silver.

I agree with the majority here, match the body color rather than a different red. I had Mike match my Torch Red and I'm really glad I did. In darker areas it does seem slightly darker than the body but it has just that hint of orange that the body has, the bright red would have just been "off" in my opinion. But most of all, do what you prefer - beauty is in the eye of the key holder!

Mike did my crystal red vert with the body color. I think I would have regretted another color after seeing the calipers for a few years

my suggestion would be for a burnished gold and if there's lettering, in monterey red.

Okay, so I was reading your response out loud and my wife says "What the hell is burnished gold?" and because we have been married 34 years I said "Exactly what I was wondering."

I did mine in CRM to match the body color with a $5 rattle can from ACE Hdwe. They look real good with chrome 5-spoke Classic Vette wheels, but look like crap with black wheels and just so-so with silver or polished wheels.

Since the wheels are what first attracts the eye, the caliper color needs to relate to the wheel/tire first and the body color second. The pic by ZR1cat demonstrates that well.

So what wheels will you be using? Pics?
