Default C6 Driver Door Not Closing/Latching

Guys,

New member, just bought a 06 Z06. Finally got the kitchen pass to buy a vette . The previous owner mentioned an issue with the driver door. After a few days with the car, the door will not latch shut. It just bounces back when I try to shut it. I've already cleaned out the latch assy, but still get the same result. I'm thinking a latch assy replacement? Anyone have the same issue?

First I have heard of this. Time for a trip to the mechanic. Better than throwing parts at it.

Agreed, but did do some research online and most of the feedback says latch assy.

Check with Gene at GM Parts House, link under parts on C6 general home page, for a discounted price.

We just had this with our 2011 Grand Sport. Parts and labor from dealer was a little over $450.00. Sorry, wish I had better news, but there is no guarantee that yours is the same as what was wrong with ours. Good luck and please let us know. That's the great thing about this forum.

Did they tell you what was wrong with your door?

Does it happen with the window UP? Have you tried closing it with the window down. If the window is all the way up it will not close properly. You may need to re-index the windows.

I think you just saved me a trip to dealer. I re-indexed them and so far so good. I'll re-post if the issue comes back. Love this forum, thanks for the help.

My 2011 Grand Sport Driver door decided to not latch closed yesterday. What is reindexing the windows? I will give that a shot. From other reads it leads to relays/actuators etc. But if this works that would be great. Please advise where I can locate what this is and how. Thank you.
Also if anyone has the part numbers for the relay and actuator just in case would be helpful and perhaps a diagram of how to remove door panel and such information.
Much appreciated.

Just to add for any input, if you grab the door handle it will unlock the door mechanism. If you use door or fob to lock the mechanism doesnt lock. Hence the door bounces open. Window stays cracked and light on driver door flashes. Any input helpful. Thank you.
