Default Best fitting dash cover?

I've got an inexpensive dash cover that I put in my 2008 only to block the reflection of the dash onto the windshield when driving. Here in Michigan it's not like it gets a lot of sun all year long. However, it fits horribly and slides all over. I refuse to use velcro stickies to keep it in place and then have adhesive residue stuck to my dash for 20 years.

Has anyone found a high quality dash mat/cover that will fit without sliding all over the place and also cuts down on glare/reflection? I see that Coverking and a few others make some, but it's hard to see how well they really fit. And, they don't show the backing material.

Thanks for any suggestions you have!

Really? No one has a dash cover in their C6?

Or do they all fit that poorly?

I have one by Performance Choice - $40, black. Fits fine, doesn't slide (although I did put down a few stickies). Doesn't come over the glove compartment (very minimalistic) which is why I chose it. Nothing sexy about it, but it gets the job done.

That's the one I have. It's wavy and lumpy, and looks bad. It won't lay flat no matter what I've tried.

There has to be something better.

Are you using a product on you dash which produces a sheen? I did that on my C5 and it really caused some glare on the windshield. Water and a little soap works well. Also some products have very low sheen.

Can't you just rub some matte finish vinyl conditioner on the dash top to lessen the reflection?

I too was bothered by the reflection. The parting lines around the HUD location were the worst. I tried a synthetic carpet style which still had some gloss and then a felt one that cured the reflection, but looked awful. The carpet style has been on for the last 100K+ miles and still looks fine. Since I have no intention of ever taking it off, I don't care about adhesive issues. Visibility is far more important to me than anything going on under the dashmat.

I ordered the molded Coverking unit to try as it can't be any worse than the MidAmerica one I have now. If it's molded at all it will be better. I tried all sorts of ways to make the dash cover sit better but in the end gained nothing but frustration.

I'm an **** retentive NCRS nut, and I've had adhesive tapes screw up dashes on other cars. So, I'm not enthused about doing anything that might screw up the dash even if I don't plan on selling the car.

No, nothing on the dash that would affect its gloss level. No Armor-All for me.

And I, too, hate the stupid cover that goes over the non-HUD hole on these dashes - you can still see it in the windshield! I was hoping for a smooth dash when I went HUD-less. One of my few disappointments with the C6.
